Reflectance spectra: thin (~150nm) acrylic coating on sheet steel
Measurement of acrylic coating on a soda can (~ 1um thickness)
Acrylic coating thickness measurement is important in many industries. For example, in food industry acrylic coating is used inside soda cans to prevent liquid from interaction with metal surface. In pharmaceutical industry, it is used inside/outside caps for vials and other containers. Thin acrylic based coatings are frequently deposited on steel or aluminum sheets to protect metal from corrosion. MProbe provide a customized solution to measure acrylic coating thickness directly on the product: inside the cans or outside, inside caps or on a large sheets. MProbe Vis system provides a quick, accurate and non-destructive measurement of coating thickness both in-line and on desktop. In case of desktop system, MProbe Vis or MProbeHC are used. MProbeHC is used for large or bended metal sheets that cannot be placed on a sample stage. For inline applications, MProbeVis head is integrated with the scanner or multichannel version is used. Every MProbe system can be customized with specialized reflectance probe, software features and report protocol specific for application requirement. Easy integration with 3rd party software via Modbus TCP based interface is available. MProbe can as well measure any other polymer coatings, organic or water based. The measurement method is not dependent of chemical composition but only require translucency of the material.
